A 'LIL DIRT NEVER HURT

Nothing tops off a long day of potty training or working the corporate grind better than an adult beverage and a lit candle.

For a healthier glow we suggest choosing candles made from clean burning waxes (such as soy, beeswax or palm wax) and scented with pure essential oils. Most inexpensive candles are made from paraffin wax, a petroleum byproduct that releases harmful compounds and soot as it burns. A U of Michigan study found that burning four metal-wick candles for two hours can spew enough airborne lead to pose a health risk.

We choose dirt. DIRT candles, that is. Why? For starters, these candles are eco-friendly from wick to box. Everything is bio-degradable. The box tells us that they burn for 60 hours but the candle-loving-rumor-mill claims they surpass that. At $24 the price is affordable. No dipping into your savings account as with other soy candles. And with names like "Old Faithful," "Beach Bum," "Sitting Pretty," and "Love Machine" what's not to love.

Hollywood agrees with us. DIRT candles were given as SWAG at the 2007 Academy Awards and Golden Globes. They've also been featured in Home Decor, Domino, Fit Yoga, and People - to name a few.

And just when we thought they couldn't get any cooler; a portion of the proceeds go to charities such as Make a Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, PETA and Big Brothers & Sisters.

Go on. Get DIRTY!

WELL, WELCOME!

Well, well, well. Welcome to well-to-do - a journey in search of health and vitality, earning an extra income, and helping to make a positive change in the world.

Friends since high school and former tennis teammates, we reconnected when Suz & co moved back to our hometown of Bangor, Maine. Sarah introduced Suz to SHAKLEE and together we embarked on becoming "well-to-do."

For over 50 years Shaklee has been a leader in natural health products and sustainable business practices by making products that are safe and effective.

When consumers and businesses celebrated plastic and synthetic materials, Shaklee turned to nature — finding the purest natural ingredients for vitamins and making BASIC H, one of the first biodegradable household cleaners ever.

When consumers and businesses were spending mega money on advertising, Shaklee invested in REWARDS for people who spread the word. Not to mention millions in research and development.

Today Shaklee continues to lead the way in "the belief that the health and prosperity of people and the planet offer the greatest hope for a better world."

Follow us as we explore Shaklee products (Wednesdays), discover our own buzz and fabulous finds (Fridays), and leverage a business as a force for positive social change.

"The first wealth is health." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

We look forward to sharing!
