Green Your Halloween

Halloween: Ranks right up there with Christmas for hating on Mother Earth. With a little creativity, though, you can still par-tay and also reduce your carbon footprint. Here are three tips to make this year's Halloween more EEK-O-FRIENDLY! {Sorry, couldn't resist}.

MAKE YOUR OWN COSTUME

OPT FOR REUSABLE BAG

Cloth or canvas shopping bags, or even pillowcases, make perfect alternatives to paper or plastic bags, or to the molded plastic jack-o-lanterns. Reusable bags are also more durable!


DECORATE NATURALLY

Instead of buying decorations made of synthetic materials, decorate with natural materials like pumpkins, hay, straw, flowers, and leaves.

I wanted to say I loved this post. I love decorating with pumpkins, gourds, hay, etc. for Halloween. Although, I probably won't find much in my closet this year for Halloween as I just got rid of most of my clothes after losing weight. However--I don't dress up for Halloween--just let the kids get into that one :)

I like to find costumes in my closet. We went to a Halloween party on Saturday and I dressed as my husband. A little make-up for facial hair and his clothes and had, turned out free and it was the biggest hit at the party.
